GPs are being paid millions a year to conduct health 'MOTs' despite checks having 'very modest benefits for patients'

The £300million-a-year NHS Health Checks screening programme aims to save thousands of people from heart attacks, strokes and diabetes. Research found it stopped one per 4,762 patients.
