Fried foods leads to obesity in people with genetic risk
Should you avoid fried foods? You should read this study if you have genetic risk.

This research finds that people who are genetically susceptible to obesity and eat fried food frequently can have twice the effect on body mass index (BMI) than those with a lower genetic predisposition.
"This work provides formal proof of interaction between a combined genetic risk score and environment in obesity." Professor Alexandra Blakemore and Dr Jessica Buxton at Imperial College London

This study should serve as a reminder to those who have problems losing weight. Choosing good foods is important if you have fat genes. If you still insist on eating fried foods, then don't blame others when they call you names that you don't like.

Guanabana Health Benefits

Almost all media is raving about guanabana, another miracle fruit for better health. Some claim that it can treat cancer.

Guanabana is a tropical fruits with other similar names like soursoup and graviola. So how does guanabana can benefit your wellbeing? This fruit is rich with medicinal values. It contains potent, natural ingredients that can treat many diseases.

So what are some of the guanabana health benefits?

Soursop leaves can be used to treat gout. Choose 6 to 10 old soursop leaves but still green. Clean them with water. Add 2 cups of water into the pot. And boil the leaves. Let it simmer until one cup of water remains. Drink this tea twice a day for maximum benefits.

If you have trouble with sleeping, then guanabana can help you. It contains tryptophan which makes you sleepy and relaxed. You can use the leaves for aromatherapy to help you sleep.

Guanabana is rich with fructose. It provides sufficient energy you need each day so you feel fresh and energetic.

Graviola contains soluble and insoluble fibers. You can increase the bulk to your stool by eating this fruit. This helps to relieve constipation.

For diabetic patients, soursop is a good alternative to sugar. You need to limit your blood sugar levels between 70 mg and 120 mg. Soursop leaves contains nutrients that can stabilize blood sugar levels in the normal range.

Guanabana For Cancer

Guanabana is believed to kill cancer cells. It is also known as graviola, custard apple, cherimoya, soursop and brazilian paw paw. It is 10,000 times stronger than Chemo. So can you use guanabana for cancer?

According to the Catholic University of South Korea, the researchers discovered one chemical in Graviola that could kill colon cancer cells at “10,000 times the potency of (the commonly used chemotherapy drug) Adriamycin…”

Cancer Research UK mentioned that graviola extracts can kill some types of liver and breast cancer cells that fail to see improvements with chemotherapy drugs. However, this observation is only done in lab tests. So far, no large scale studies have been conducted in humans.

"Researchers in various countries, including the US, have also found that soursop leaves have anti-cancer properties and this could be another reason why the tree is becoming more widely grown in Thailand. I was in Phuket recently when someone came asking for leaves from my daughter's tree for a family member who had cancer. The next day another came, also asking for leaves, and said her relative had cancer." Source

FEATURED COMMENTS

We love getting comments from our growing BuiltLean community and we are grateful for everyone’s participation. If one of our articles inspires you to give a little more your next workout, or try something new, let us know. We’ve had some great feedback on articles that have come out this month and wanted to share a few of them.

1) “Excellent article Charlie! I also have done quite a bit research because so many people recommend this is the way to go nowadays (especially vegans). I found similar results as to yours (basically no hard evidence showing its great digestive benefits). I also agree with you that with the majority of people should keep it simple and just eat a well balanced healthy diet limiting processed foods. (or as I say do what bruce lee did!). Great article Charlie!”

2) “I just wanted to say that I love the site and the help that you guys have given me in achieving my weight loss. I came across the BuiltLean in the beginning of 2012 and went from 204lb (24.5%) down to 178lb (14%).”
-Adam, New York

3) “Hi, I really appreciate the time and effort you put in writing these really helpful articles.
Over a month ago I started facing a weight loss plateau that seemed like it would never go away, I tried very hard to break it but my steady state cardio wasn’t that effective, even though I used to jog for 35 minutes for 3 times a week there was no results! but after reading about HIIT and understanding that it is the best cardio to burn fat I decided to give it a shot, and this article helped me decide which HIIT workout I should choose. Right now, after one week if doing HIIT and some strength training I was able to break my weight loss plateau and lose 3 pounds!

Thank you very much for helping me continue my weight loss journey!”
